Other News

The news of Abbey Court Medical Centre going into special measures has been published in the local press.

Please can we take the opportunity to state that Abbey Court Medical Centre is a completely different surgery to Clanricarde Medical Centre.

Clanricarde happens to be resident at the 'Abbey Court' building complex, which also houses a Diabetic Centre, and a Kidney Centre among others. Abbey Court Medical Centre are also resident at the 'Abbey Court' complex, but are not to be confused with Clanricarde.

As can be found at the bottom of our webpage, Clanricarde were given a ‘Good’ rating by the CQC.

The website provides many online facilities, including appointment booking and cancellation, registration, prescription ordering, and much more. It also contains a vast range of health information and resources, along with practical information on visiting the surgery. We hope you find it useful and informative.

How information about you helps the NHS to provide better care

Confidential information from your medical records can be used by the NHS to improve the services offered so they can provide the best possible care for everyone. This information along with your postcode, date of birth, gender and NHS number but not your name, are sent to a secure system where it can be linked with other information such as diagnoses and medication. This allows those planning NHS Services to use information in a way that does not identify you. The data is governed by data protection laws.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
If you are happy for your information to be used in this way, you do not need to do anything. If you have concerns or wish to prevent this from happening, please speak with a member of staff or ask for a copy of the leaflet "How information about you helps us to provide better care". Flu Vaccine

Vaccines are available between October – March. Please see the noticeboard for further information or pick up a leaflet at the surgery.

Electronic Prescription Service

We introduced an Electronic Prescription Service in December 2012. Please fill in the form, by clicking this link, to nominate the Pharmacy you wish to use. Please return your completed form as soon as possible to your Pharmacy or to us.

Travel Risk Assessment

If you are thinking of travelling abroad, you may require advice on vaccinations. Please call the surgery to make a Travel Clinic appointment with our Practice Nurse at your earliest convenience.  There is no longer any need for completion of a travel questionnaire, the Nurse will discuss all the relevant details with you at your appointment.

Please note: we need six weeks notice for travel vaccinations

Disabled Access

The surgery has a number of designated disabled parking spaces for patients at the rear of the building. There is a lift available.

Parking

There are a limited number of parking spaces in the first parking section at the rear of the building and are on a 'first come, first served' basis. In order to qualify for 1.5 hours FREE PARKING you will be required to enter your FULL REGISTRATION details into the terminal located in our reception EVERY time you attend the surgery. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in a penalty charge of £70, which will be reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days of date issued.

Please note that the surgery is unable to deal with queries regarding penalty notices and you will need to contact the company directly to appeal.
